School of Nursing Career Fair

Career Fair

Dates and times to be determined

Attendees can learn about the organizations that will be at the career fair, their recruitment interests and opportunities.

Approximately 25 health care organizations will be in attendance looking to fill BSN, MSN and DNP positions. They will also have externship and volunteer opportunities available.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:

Registration: Registration for students will be done on site.

  • Handshake is a site where students/alumni, the University Career Center and recruiters all converge. Students can find postings around the country for a wide array of nursing jobs and internships.

Professional attire: Students will be required to wear professional attire during the career fair. This will help to create an excellent first impression.

Resume: A strong, well-organized resume is always an important component at a career fair. Resumes should be uploaded to Handshake and organizations are able to view prior to the career fair. For resume assistance, please visit the University Career Services resources page

Professional goals: Before attending the career fair, you should have some clear professional goals in mind. Junior BSN students, for instance, may want to obtain an externship that will provide experience in a particular area of interest. Master’s students who will be graduating at the conclusion of the fall or winter semester may have more defined goals of finding a nurse practitioner position in a hospital in a particular region.

Questions for exhibitors: Organizations may ask you a variety of questions during the career fair, but you will also want to ask them questions. Consider what you will want to know about potential work and education environments.
