With over 17 years of dedicated experience, Doris is a highly skilled pediatric cardiovascular and pediatric intensive care nurse currently working in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Her extensive clinical expertise has been honed in some of the most challenging and rewarding environments, where she has provided exceptional care to critically ill children. Doris has also served as a clinical manager at a Level 1 pediatric hospital, where her leadership and clinical acumen have driven significant improvements in patient care and staff development. Her deep understanding of pediatric critical care, combined with a strong commitment to patient outcomes, positions Doris as a leading figure in the field of pediatric nursing.

Teaching

Doris has made significant contributions to nursing education throughout her academic career. She has taught clinical rotations and lectured for undergraduate students at several universities, providing hands-on guidance and nurturing the development of future nurses. Notably, Doris played a key role in establishing the accreditation of one of the nursing programs she was involved with, ensuring the highest standards of education were met. Her commitment to innovative teaching is evident in her evidence-based research study and lecture on the use of technology in the classroom, particularly the application of simulation as a valuable teaching tool. Through her love of mentorship, Doris has inspired and supported many students, leaving a lasting impact on the nursing profession.
