The University of Michigan School of Nursing welcomes Visiting Scholar Michelle J. Hindin, Ph.D. MHS, director of the Population Council’s Reproductive Health Program. Hindin will deliver her presentation, “’Women Manufacture Children and if You Can’t You Are Just a Man’: Exploring the Burden of Infertility.”

Prior to her global leadership position at the Population Council, Hindin was a professor in the Department of Population, Family, and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she continues to hold an adjunct appointment. She also served as a scientist in the World Health Organization’s Reproductive Health and Research Department, overseeing reproductive health research and programming across the world. A global expert in gender inequities in sexual and reproductive health, Hindin has worked in multiple countries, including extensive work in Ghana, Zimbabwe and the Philippines.
