Description
The UMSN Community Technology Forum has been established to develop, build, and grow a community around the use of technology at the School of Nursing. You do not have to be a “techie” to participate. The forum will provide the School with an environment that facilitates discussion between faculty, students, and staff at all levels of experience and expertise. It will be an open collaboration where broader and more nuanced perspectives of technology use at the school can be examined and used to help us better align that use with our needs.
Through the forum we hope to build an informal learning community of practice that will:
- Build relationships, remove barriers, and connect people.
- Share and broaden UMSN technological knowledge.
- Identify UMSN technology gaps and solutions.
- Sponsor technology focused events and activities (presentations, workshops, showcases, etc).
- Propose and promote adoption of new technology within the School of Nursing.
Because building community is at the core of the Forum’s mission, in addition to agenda building during the initial meeting we would like to address how technology can be used to improve the internal communications of the school. Discussion will center around various technologies such as blogs, social media, real time chat, and other platforms. If you are interested in advancing technology at the school, please bring your thoughts and ideas, and join us as we build this new community!
