U-M is looking for up to ten students at the advanced professional level from each health science school with a basic knowledge of motivational interviewing. This is a great opportunity learn more and network in an exciting interprofessional format!
Dates (both days required)
Wednesdays, November 8 and 15 from 5-8 p.m.
Eligibility
Students should be enrolled in one of the following programs: MD, NP/CNM/DNP, DPT, PharmD, DDS, RDH, MPH, or MSW.
Objectives
Learn about, from, and with each other in the context of motivational interviewing to improve health outcomes for patients and populations.
Work with individuals of other professions to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values.
Use the knowledge of one’s own role and those of other professions to appropriately assess and address the healthcare needs of patients via simulated interactions.
Communicate with patients, families, communities, and professionals in health and other fields that supports a team approach to the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of disease.
