Henry Ford Global Health Symposium

Date
Friday, October 21, 2016 - 8:00am to 4:30pm
Location
Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI, Buerki Auditorium
Description
This year’s symposium will focus on capacity building. There are great disparities in clinical and research capabilities within and between countries worldwide. At times, experts from high-resource countries drop into developing countries or underserved communities to briefly conduct a study or provide short-term clinical care. By contrast, global health partnerships are ones that are mutually-beneficial, communitydriven, and build long-term, sustainable capacity.
The 2016 Global Health Symposium will look at cutting-edge work being done around the world to strengthen clinical and research capacity at home and abroad. Prominent international, national, and local experts will share their knowledge and experiences with Symposium participants. Following the success of the 2014 and 2015 Symposiums, participants will again play an integral part in the exchange of information through poster presentations, interactive panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
