From Ctools to Canvas

As University of Michigan transitions from Ctools to the new learning management system Canvas starting in Fall 2015, School of Nursing IT will host the following training sessions to help our faculty and staff to get familiar with Canvas.

• From Ctools to Canvas: (Wednesday, July 8, 2015, 12-1pm at Nursing Rm 1330). This is to provide an introduction of Canvas for faculty/staff who are considering to switch from Ctools to Canvas in Fall 2015. We will go through the overview of Canvas, the similarity and differences between Ctools and Canvas, course navigation, enhance features of Canvas, and how to get ready for course content migration.
• Canvas Course Setup: (Thursday, July 9, 2015, 1-2pm at Nursing Rm 1330). This is a hands-on workshop to learn how to setup a basic course in Canvas. We will go through course setup basics and create a course.
• Canvas Assignments, Quizzes and Grades: (Thursday, July 9, 2015, 2-3pm at Nursing Rm 1330) This is a hands-on workshop to explore the how-to of Canvas Assignments, Quizzes and Grades. You will have the opportunity to create Assignments and Quizzes during the workshop, and also experience the powerful SpeedGrader feature.
