Sep 20, 2022The University of Michigan School of Nursing today announced the recipients of the 2022 alumni awards. They are Kristen Choi, Ph.D., MS, RN; Doris Grinspun, Ph.D., MSN, BSN, RN and Dana Tschannen, Ph.D., RN. The awards are selected by the U-M School of Nursing Alumni Awards Committee and will be officially presented during the School of Nursing’s 2022 reunion festivities on Friday, Sept. 23.

Funding aims to increase access to diverse doula care
Jul 11, 2022The Region 9 Perinatal Quality Collaborative (PQC) co-chaired by U-M School of Nursing professor Lisa Kane Low, Ph.D., CNM, FACNM, FAAN recently received $34,000 in grant funding from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund to increase and diversify the doula workforce. Doulas provide education, physical comfort and emotional support throughout the birthing process. This new funding will assist in improving accessibility to culturally aligned doula support for birthing families to address health disparities and improve birth outcomes.

Grant aims to create artificial intelligence algorithm to support continuity-based assignments of health care workers
Jun 02, 2022University of Michigan School of Nursing Professor Olga Yakusheva, Ph.D. received a grant from the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality for her research project R01, A Quality and Cost Analysis of Interprofessional Team Continuity in ICUs.
