The Grants and Research Office (GRO) at the University of Michigan School of Nursing is dedicated to supporting faculty-led research by streamlining the grant application and management process. Our mission is to advance groundbreaking research in nursing science by facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing expert guidance in securing funding.
Comprehensive Faculty Support
GRO is committed to supporting faculty research excellence through:
- Grant identification and application: We help researchers identify and apply for various grants, including research, service and educational funding opportunities.
- Pre-award navigation: Our team assists with all phases of the grant process, ensuring compliance and providing administrative support for funded projects.
- Post-award management is the responsibility of the principal investigator in coordination with their research administrator on fiscal matters.
- Statistical and data analysis expertise: Through the Applied Biostatistics Laboratory, we offer consultation on research design, statistical planning, and data analysis. Our statisticians collaborate with investigators, contributing to projects from inception through publication.
Collaborative Partnerships and Resources
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: GRO acts as a liaison connecting researchers within U-M and with external agencies to foster collaborative partnerships.
- Funding opportunities and research initiatives: We provide resources to explore funding from government agencies, foundations, and U-M specific initiatives and promote partnerships with University of Michigan School of Nursing researchers.
- Educational sessions: We coordinate grantsmanship workshops and events such as the annual Research, Innovation and Scholarship Symposium to showcase faculty and student research.
