Commencement speaker: Julie Wilner, BSN, RN ('05)

Julie Wilner, BSN, RN, is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Jaide Health, a provider of AI-driven instant foreign language interpretation and translation, helping clinicians (especially nurses) deliver better care for all patients regardless of their preferred language. A visionary operations leader, Julie focuses on understanding complex systems and end-user needs to design products that improve communication and optimize productivity. Her career spans pediatric ICU nursing, a 15-year tenure at Google, and health-tech entrepreneurship.
Prior to founding Jaide Health, Julie spent 15 years at Google, where she built and led teams to launch a wide range of products across both health and consumer technology. Her time there was focused on transforming technical complexity into intuitive tools for millions of users. This followed her work as Director of Product at Basis, where she led the development and launch of the first watch with optical heart rate monitoring. Her career path—from the Pediatric ICU at Stanford Children’s Health to Silicon Valley leadership—centers on a passion for using systems and technology to optimize patient and clinician experiences.
Julie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 2005, during which time she gained clinical experience working across the adult Intensive Care Units at Michigan Medicine. Today, she remains deeply involved with the University, advising the School of Nursing on innovation, fundraising, and strategic initiatives to extend the reach of the profession. A California-licensed RN with a lifelong passion for fitness, she resides in Manhattan Beach with her husband and three sons.
