Dr. Brittany Niedzwiecki’s areas of expertise in nursing science center on adult hematology/oncology, palliative and hospice care. As an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, she has extensive experience managing complex oncologic and hematologic conditions, including the coordination of multidisciplinary care, interpretation of advanced diagnostics, and delivery of patient-centered treatment across the illness trajectory. Her scholarly and clinical interests also include early detection of pressure injuries through innovative technologies, contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Additionally, Dr. Niedzwiecki demonstrates expertise in symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, and the integration of psychosocial and ethical considerations into care delivery.

Teaching
Dr. Brittany Niedzwiecki demonstrates a strong commitment to nursing education through graduate and undergraduate instruction, simulation-based learning, and student mentorship. As a previous instructional aide at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, she supported graduate-level courses in advanced pathophysiology, biostatistics, and nursing theory, fostering critical thinking and application of complex concepts to clinical practice. Her teaching emphasizes experiential learning that integrates clinical skills with ethical decision-making, reflection, and compassionate care.
Drawing on her leadership as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Nurse Corps, she brings a structured, team-based approach to education, emphasizing accountability, resilience, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She mentors students in clinical and scholarly settings, promoting professional growth and evidence-based practice, preparing nurses to lead not only with scientific rigor but compassion.
