Dr. Brianna Brand is a pediatric nurse practitioner whose expertise centers on pediatric primary care, adolescent health, and health disparities in underserved populations. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to patient- and family-centered care, emphasizing collaboration, education, and shared decision-making to support children and their caregivers. She prioritizes building trust with families, addressing social and environmental influences on health, and promoting preventive care and early intervention across the pediatric lifespan. Her clinical background includes managing acute and chronic pediatric conditions across neurological, endocrine, and multisystem disorders while maintaining a holistic, compassionate approach to care. Her scholarship focuses on improving clinical outcomes through early diagnosis, diagnostic accuracy, and addressing gaps in care, including infectious disease, adolescent mental health, and healthcare utilization, with a focus on equitable, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices.

Teaching

Dr. Brand is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the undergraduate nursing program, where she teaches pediatric didactic instruction and clinical courses including Pediatrics and Therapeutic Nursing Care III. Her previous teaching experience includes health assessment, community health, transcultural care, and simulation. Her teaching is grounded in respect, mentorship, intellectual challenge, and excellence, with a focus on preparing students for safe, competent, and compassionate nursing practice. Through classroom instruction, clinical supervision, simulation, reflection, and individualized feedback, Dr. Brand helps students strengthen their confidence, critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making. She emphasizes professionalism, accountability, evidence-based practice, and lifelong professional growth.
