HealthyLifetime® Featured Among U-M innovations at Celebrate Invention

HealthyLifetime®, an innovative program developed at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, was among just nine innovations from across the University of Michigan featured at the 2026 Celebrate Invention event.

Hosted by U-M Innovation Partnerships on Sept. 24 at the Michigan Union, Celebrate Invention brings together representatives from across U-M to showcase university innovations and recognize their impact.

Dr. Kathleen Potempa, dean emerita at UMSN, Dr. Margaret Calarco, HealthyLifetime® program coordinator, and Hayley Christensen, marketing communications lead at HealthyLifetime®, represented the program at the event, speaking with attendees about its work and impact. UMSN's Ann Fitzsimons and Dr. Clayton Shuman, director of the Healthcare Innovation Impact Program, also joined the team at the event.

Developed at the U-M School of Nursing, HealthyLifetime® has since spun out as a business and program supporting health care and aging organizations. Its platform brings together behavior change coaching, workforce support, digital tools, organizational dashboards and outcome measurement to help organizations improve self-care, extend independence and reduce age-related costs.

HealthyLifetime®’s selection as one of only nine featured innovations across U-M highlights the continued impact of ideas developed at the U-M School of Nursing and their potential to improve health and health care beyond the university.

Congratulations to the HealthyLifetime® team on this recognition and their continued work to support healthy aging and independence.
