The University of Michigan School of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program continues to rank among the nation’s best, maintaining its position at No. 6 in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.
The recognition of sustained excellence comes during a period of significant growth. This fall, the School welcomed the largest first-year class in its history, expanding its capacity to educate the next generation of nurses while maintaining its commitment to academic excellence and an exceptional student experience.
“Being recognized as one of the nation’s leading undergraduate nursing programs is a meaningful acknowledgement of the extraordinary work happening across our School,” said Dean Allison R. Webel, Ph.D., RN, FAAN. “Even more important is what stands behind that recognition: exceptional faculty and staff, talented students, engaged alumni and partners, and a shared commitment to advancing health for all through nursing.”
Growing from a Position of Strength
The U-M School of Nursing undergraduate program combines rigorous academic preparation with hands-on clinical experiences, research opportunities, and access to the resources of one of the nation’s leading public universities.
Students learn from nationally and internationally recognized faculty while gaining experience across a broad range of clinical and community settings. Their education prepares them not only to deliver exceptional patient care, but also to collaborate across disciplines, apply evidence to improve outcomes, and lead change throughout health care.
This fall’s record-setting first-year class represents another important milestone for the School and its commitment to preparing more highly skilled nurses to meet the evolving needs of patients, families, and communities.
