The University of Michigan School of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program has been ranked No. 6 in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Colleges rankings.

This recognition once again places the U-M School of Nursing among the top nursing programs nationwide, highlighting our continued excellence in preparing future nurses and health care leaders. Our BSN program has been consistently ranked inside the top 10, a reflection of our long-standing commitment to world-class nursing education.

The rankings for BSN programs are based on the average scores from surveys conducted among leading academics and officials at nursing schools or departments across the country. These experts assess the overall quality of undergraduate BSN programs using a 1-to-5 scale. To be eligible, schools must hold bachelor-level accreditation from either the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
