Teaching

Dr. Cheryl Jusela has been a registered nurse since 2002 and a practicing nurse practitioner since 2007.  Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, she has provided care to adult and geriatric populations in acute care, long-term care, and primary care settings.  She is passionate about the patient experience and the quality of care received as they transition between and within settings of care.  Her research interest focuses on discharge from the hospital to skilled/assisted living facilities.  She was recently awarded a grant from Centers for Frail and Vulnerable Elders and CIC Collaborative to further her work on Project BOOST: A Community-Academic Partnership.

In the classroom, Dr. Jusela has taught predominately undergraduate and accelerated second degree students.  She teaches in the areas of leadership, quality & safety, and research.  Outside of the classroom, Dr. Jusela has served as a mentor to other Nurse Practitioners as they pursue advanced degrees.
