Ms. Klimek’s professional career began at Mayo Clinic with heart failure, heart transplant, VAD, and valve surgery patients. She also worked at Vanderbilt Medical Center and University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center in the Intensive Care Units. Ashleigh taught undergraduate students in the clinical setting while completing her Graduate Studies at University of Michigan. She enjoys incorporating new and innovative teaching strategies with the students while sharing her enthusiasm for the nursing profession. 

Teaching

Ms. Klimek is a clinical educator within the undergraduate level in the Critical Care Units at University of Michigan Health System. Her area of clinical focus is in cardiology and critical care, with emphasis on mentorship and evidence–based practice in clinical care. In this practice setting, she carries an interest in identifying a variety of innovative approaches to teaching, such as simulation, in order to enhance learning and promote critical thinking.
