Pharmacotherapeutics I --- This course focuses on core knowledge needed to understand the therapeutic use of drugs and develop appropriate, evidence-based treatment regimens across the lifespan. Basic principles of pharmacology, such as mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, of major drug classes will be discussed in relation to physiology and pathophysiology; current research data and evidence-based treatment guidelines will be reviewed. Exemplars and case studies will be used for clinical application.
