Advanced Primary Care Nursing of Chronic Illness in Adults and their Families --- This course develops and broadens student's primary care knowledge, skills, and clinical judgment.  Specific content relates to the primary health care needs of individuals and their families in screening for, preventing, and/or managing common chronic conditions.  Content addresses the impact of chronic illness on the course of the individual's health and disease states, the family constellation and use of personal and health resources. Issues of age, gender, race, genetics, and sexuality are addressed within the context of family and community. Uses of information technology and community resources are integrated to promote positive adaptation to the impact and sequelae of the chronic illness.
