Pathophysiology --- This course presents mechanisms and theories related to the development of diseases and conditions of the human body throughout the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on common diseases and conditions related to functional health patterns. Cellular and system wide alterations in body structure and function are discussed. Students will examine relationships among heredity (genetics), age, physical mobility, lifestyle, cultural background and pathophysiology. Principles of immunology have been integrated into this course.
