NURS 891 - Substantive Research Focus

Prerequisite: Admission to PhD program or Permission of Instructor

Credits: 3

The substantive research focus study is designed to prepare students for scientific careers in their chosen fields of study. Students complete 3 credits of substantive research content through guided study with their research mentor(s) and mentoring team. During this study, students are required to demonstrate rigorous analysis and synthesis of theoretical and empirical literature that they will use to develop their own unique independent area of study. Socialization through close work with a research mentor will lead to demonstrable milestones critical to scientific inquiry.
