NURS 504 - Foundations of Leadership

This is a graduate-level course that examines the foundations and context of nursing leadership to impact and drive both nursing and healthcare organizations in creating transformative structures for high quality and value-based patient care across the continuum. Key themes through this course include multiple theories in leadership, models of care, interprofessional collaboration, and practice environments. Students will apply a future forward and action oriented approach to addressing the contemporary valued based dilemmas facing health care leaders. Students will engage in defining leadership initiatives and the impact to health policy and advocacy that nursing leaders can achieve.
