NURS 262 - Therapeutic Nursing Care I

This is the first course in a series of three Therapeutic Nursing Care courses. Therapeutic Nursing I serves as an introduction to clinical nursing practice including critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and clinical decision-making. The importance of clinical judgment will be stressed. Content includes concepts involving pain, mobility, infection, thermoregulation, tissue integrity, and elimination. Concepts related to person, significant others; community; society; and culture are integrated within the course to apply the ecological model to nursing care. Therapeutic Nursing Care I clinical is concurrent to this lecture and provides experiences to complement the concepts presented throughout the course.
