NURS 232 - Health Assessment

This course is designed to provide the student with the beginning knowledge and skills needed to assess the health status of individuals across the lifespan. Emphasis is on the assessment of physical, developmental, psychosocial (cognitive, affective, and behavioral), cultural, social, and spiritual dimensions of the client. Attention will be placed on distinguishing normal from abnormal findings and evaluating the functional abilities of the client. Students will be exposed to the concepts of physiological systems, cognition, affect, interpersonal communication, social and cultural determinants of health, lifespan development, and functional status.
