Self-Service tools for Remote Course Delivery
Bluejeans
BlueJeans was specifically selected to provide faculty and students with the most robust and established tool available. It has full campus wide and UMSN IT support, and is available for immediate use as it is licensed for all University faculty, students, and staff. BlueJeans sessions have a large capacity and support up to 150 attendees (students). BlueJeans also has the capacity to host larger courses, for which UMSN IT has activated for courses with enrollments of greater than 150 students.

Echo360
Echo360 is the School of Nursing’s standard lecture capture platform. Faculty who normally use Echo360 for their courses may continue to do so (faculty may also add live streaming to existing scheduled recordings if desired). If you would like to have your lecture recorded during your normal class time, please call UMSN IT at 734-764-6300 to schedule a lecture capture, or email us at nursing-help@umich.edu with your course number and class times.
Kaltura Capture
Kaltura Capture is a standard personal recording which is already integrated into Canvas. Faculty can use Kaltura Capture to record videos (including Voice of PowerPoint), and screen captures using their laptops and/or desktop computers equipped with a web camera. Kaltura Capture is fully supported by both ITS and UMSN IT, and is licensed for immediate use by all University faculty, students, and staff.

Respondus Lockdown Browser*
Respondus LockDown Browser is a customized browser that increases the security of test delivery in CANVAS. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser to access an exam, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications.
*Please note that the provisioning of remote proctoring for faculty is in process and will be made available as soon as possible.
