Meet your new advisors & undergraduate staff

Two new undergraduate advisors are part of UMSN. Jieron Robinson and Lori Meehan join Chad Gorski as the school’s trio of undergraduate advisors. The advisors will have walk-in hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-2p.m. Walk-in advising is the School of Nursing Building (426 N. Ingalls), Room 3006. Please email the advisor box,, with general advising questions. If you have a unique personal situation, email your advisor directly. 

Students have been assigned to an advisor by alphabetical order.

 Jieron Robinson

Jieron Robinson has a master’s degree in educational leadership and an advising certification from Eastern Michigan University (EMU). He has held multiple roles serving students at EMU and most recently at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.

Lori Meehan 

Lori Meehan has her master’s degree in higher education from the University of Michigan and has worked with students in many roles at Eckerd College in Florida and Rice University in Texas. She joins UMSN from the U-M athletic department.

Denise Sumerlin

Denise Sumerlin is UMSN’s new clinical placement and compliance coordinator. She has experience working with data systems within the university and is already working with clinical partners to continually enhance the student learning experience.  

Connie Van Atta

Connie Van Atta is our administrative assistant at our reception desk, who will greet students as they visit undergraduate program services office.

Ryanne Arecheja (photo not available) is the administrative assistant for Bonnie Hagerty, Ph.D., associate dean for the undergraduate program and Penny Riley, Ph.D., director of the undergraduate program.
