Teaching
Ms. Derkin is a lecturer in the Community Health Program at the School of Nursing. She enjoys teaching undergraduates in their senior year, focusing on community health issues such as health promotion and risk reduction. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Michigan's Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) program and currently works with clients as a board-certified ANP in the long-term care setting. She also has experience as an ANP working with clients in the settings of a family practice and HIV/STD clinic. Her passions include empowering women in the area of health and exploring the link between traditional and alternative health care practices.
