Travel Support Requests
All students
During the course of your academic career at the School of Nursing, students may have the opportunity to enrich their learning experience by participating in non-traditional classroom courses or programs where travel is necessary. The School recognizes the additional financial expense associated with this type of experience and so, funding may be available to help cover some of these costs. For undergraduates, please contact the Office of Academic Affairs at (734) 764-7188. For graduate students, please see the division representative for your program. For international travel, please contact the Office of Global Outreach at (734) 763-6669.
In addition, for Rackham Graduate students, funds may be available to help defray the costs of attending conferences - a valuable and highly supported educational experience. Please visit the Rackham Conference Travel Grant page for more information about the award, its application procedure, and associated deadlines prior to your conference travel date.
Awards for Excellence in Nursing
All students
During the annual convocation ceremony, the School of Nursing celebrates our students’ academic accomplishments by presenting Awards for Excellence in Nursing. These awards are initiated through faculty nominations and presented to individuals who have demonstrated scholarly excellence or exemplary community service. Each recipient will be individually recognized during the ceremonial program as well as commemorated on a plaque prominently displayed at the School of Nursing. These prestigious awards may be accompanied by a monetary gift and/or certificate of recognition.
Center for the Education of Women Scholarship Program
All students
The CEW Scholarship Program for returning women students was established in 1970 to honor the academic performance and potential of women whose education has been interrupted and to commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the admission of women to the University of Michigan. These scholarships proved invaluable since they often meant the difference between completing a degree or not doing so for many students at the University of Michigan. Due to the generosity of donors, CEW was able to expand the program in 2008 to include additional scholarships for male and female students on the Ann Arbor campus. For more information, please visit the CEW Scholarship Program webpage.
Rackham Graduate School Funding

Rackham Graduate School provides various awards and grants for graduate students. Please visit their Funding Resources webpage for more details.
Additional Outside Sources
As the School of Nursing becomes aware of scholarship opportunities offered by external entities, they are posted to CTools -- a web-based tool used by the U-M community for information sharing. Current students are automatically given access to this site upon enrollment in the school.
