Post-Master's Certificate in Nursing Business & Health Systems
Program Focus
The Nursing Business and Health Systems Post-Master’s Certificate program prepares nurses who have previously earned a Master’s degree in nursing for advanced practice in leading and managing health systems. The program is based on the organizing framework of the Nursing Business and Health Systems Master’s Program. Coursework focuses on strategic planning, systems assessment, quality, finance, operations management, financial and human resources, and change and innovation. Within the curriculum of five required courses, students are encouraged to pursue their area of interest whenever possible. The Post-Master’s certificate program is planned for part-time study and is offered in a web-based format.
The post-masters certificate in Nursing Business and Health Systems is based on the objectives of the Nursing Business and Health Systems Master’s Program:
- Develop and implement strategic and operational plans to guide the organization or system toward successful outcomes
- Provide leadership and management in nursing and healthcare systems
- Create and innovate new ideas and develop strategy, means and methods to implement
- Effectively lead and manage successful change in healthcare and nursing
Curriculum
The post masters certificate is planned for part time enrollment. Full-time enrollment is not possible at this time. The certificate can be earned in approximately 3 semesters (one calendar year) of part-time enrollment.
