Diversity, equity and inclusion are principles of standard practice, and excellence of any institution or community depends on these principles. We cannot be excellent if we do not welcome all experiences in our community.
Through shared efforts with the University of Michigan, the School of Nursing recruits a community of students, faculty and staff that represents a wide range of personal and academic backgrounds, while making sure that each person is engaged and enjoys an equal sense of belonging.
Our students, faculty and staff are creatively engaged in diversity, equity and inclusion work, making this work rich and multivalent, and taking place in the contexts of teaching, research, outreach, and service.
Our community strives to become the pre-eminent example of progress in matters related to improving the status of all people, and particularly underrepresented and underserved populations in both education and healthcare.
I proudly serve as Senior Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the University of Michigan School of Nursing and look forward to working collaboratively and continuously to address challenges, strengthen our community, and create new opportunities.
