In May 2015, Dean Potempa named UMSN Assistant Professor Patricia Coleman-Burns, PhD, MA, chair of a newly formed UMSN Diversity Committee.
"The charge of the committee is straightforward," Dean Potempa explained: To make recommendations of strategies to further enhance the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty, staff and student body in the School of Nursing; and to make recommendations of strategies to enhance an inclusive culture among faculty, staff and students.
