Overview
The School of Nursing IT group works to connect its students, faculty, and staff to online resources that can help make them more confident users of technology.To this end, IT has compiled several useful training aids, designed specifically for those looking to learn more about Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Office 2007 Microsoft Training
Office 2007 has a new look and new features designed to help get work done faster. Below are video demonstrations produced by Microsoft that help users get up to speed with each Office application.
The School of Nursing IT staff has also produced Office 2007 and Outlook 2007 training videos that you can follow along with to learn the basics of these programs.

The Ribbon
Microsoft Office provides easy access to commands through the tab formatted "Ribbon." This replaces the menus and toolbars found in previous versions. The purpose of the Ribbon is to keep commands visible while you work instead of hiding them under menus and toolbars.

The Office Button
The Microsoft Office Button is located in the upper left-hand corner of the program window and replaces the File menu found in previous versions of Microsoft Office. The Office Button menu contains basic file management commands including, New, Open, Save, Save as, Print and Close.

Managing Mailbox Size
It is important to keep your Exchange mailbox within the 500 MB limit. When your mailbox fills to 90% of your quota, you will receive a warning email notificationg, indicating that you are approaching your limit. Once you reach your quota you will be able to receive messages, but you will not be able to send them. The size of your mailbox may be checked at anytime by opening the Properties of your mailbox from Outlook. Larger mailboxes may be requested if authorized and paid for by your department.
